Well I don't know if it is the same, I have a 280ZX NT 83, I replaced my hoses last year. I wanted to use factory hoses but damn they are expensive. So what I did I bought about 6ft worth of heater hose at Checkers. and I installed it with not alot of problems. I was concerned that the hoses will get pinched but actually they worked fine. with no modifications. it was a little tideous because it is somewhat crowded and you have to work on your back. Looking back I think it would be much easier if I would had removed the passenger seat, but it is done and I don't have to worry about them breaking on me. Another thing you can still use the rubber seal that is on the firewall. what i did I lubricated them with a little bit of vaseline or grease wich ever you prefer and I just slid it in and you can't tell that the hoses were replaced they look stock. well hope this helps any question just write back. another thing the only things you remove are the panels from the bottom and make sure you dissconnect the battery because you are going to keep the doors open for a while and your inside lights will be on good luck. it took me about 2hrs by myself. 2nd time I helped a friend with his Z it took us about 1hr. good luck.

FWIW, my early 260Z has "generic" reddish-brown 5/8" ID heater hose installed by the PO. Works fine. Also a piece was used for the crancase breather to the air filter, and another piece used for the "block vent" to the PCV valve on the balance tube.

I'm looking for the colored silicon hose to replace these 2 breather hoses...
