Car is all jacked up again, help.
OK,
Here it goes. I'm not sure whats going on.
I think this is timing or something but can't fix it. I start the car, let it warm up, and then go to drive it. The car has a really hard time getting up to speed, and pops and sputters. At speed it is a good drive, but when I let off the throttle the rpm's drop all the way to zero and then bounce up to where it would be in good running. If I put my foot back on the throttle, the car sputters until it can attain a none accelerating steady speed. I have tried timing, but nothing happend and I have tried carb tuning but that doesn't seem to be it either. What the heck is going on?

DUDE get rid of that POS mechanical fuel pump. get an electric, and use a piece of sheet metal with some silicon to seal up the old mech. fuel pump bracket hole thingy.
Those old mechanical pumps do fail over time. they get old an beaten up. that would seriously be the first thing that i'd let go of. you could prolly get a nice old RX7 Fuel pump (those flow about 5-7psi which is the stocker for a 240z. You may be able to find one in a junk yard. for next to nothing.
