Cam question
I have a question about cams... I was wondering does a mild cam increase horsepower over a stock cam, or does it just shift where the peak horsepower is reached. Is it worth getting a cam, as there is not much else i can do without spending big bucks. Hit me with the physics if you want, i love it.

Re: Cam question
Most any cam with more radical lift and duration will improve hp specs on your engine throughout the powerband. Now, more noticeable increases may be observed at certain rpms over others b/c of the engine characteristics, but it certainly does increase your hp. Any time you increase the length of time and ease at which air/gas is allowed into your engine, you add hp.

Re: Cam question
Mild cam is good as long as you can give enough fuel. Also, you want to make sure that the compression is good too. With bad/low compression, you be shooting you own toes. I'm running 274 deg cam and it seens to work real good after I gave more fuel.
