Brand new injector insulators cracking

Brand new injector insulators cracking

I guess maybe I'm wrong, but I thought that when you screwed the injectors down to the manifold they had to be tight, I didn't just bear down on them, but now 3 of my brand new ones are cracked, surely somebody can give me some pointers on this

true, you don't want to tighten them down too much, also check the metalhold down rings. Put them on a flat surface and check for true, if one rocks, turn it over or try to flatten it. But most of the time it's over tightening that cracks the insulators.

Thanks, thats what I was afraid of, I guess I just thought that simply tightening them with a philips screw driver instead of a socket would have kept me from over tightening. Do I just simply need to get them snug? I'll have to check the hold down plates and see about the flatness.
