Part for a 1974 260Z
Does anyone know where I can find a Throttle Opener Control Valve for a 1974 260Z? If not is there a way that I can bypass that part and still get the torque and horsepower that I am supposed to be getting from my stock engine? I appreciate all the help.

Kewlcat,
Where are you ? Is it a US based car or from what country ?
If it is a US car are you still running the square top SU's ?
Give us a bit more information , so someone can help you.
I have parts for a late 260Z US model in my garage.

Kewlcat,
Take a look at this link. The carbs listed as boat anchors at the top
of the page are square tops. I have a few parts for them, but if you
have them you really want to get rid of them

Re: Part for a 1974 260Z
Yes, I do have the square top SU carbs. But right now that is not really the problem I am having. I am missing this piece and cannot find it anywhere. The Chilton maintenance Manual says it is the Throttle Control Valve Opener. Here are a few pictures of it and where it is placed on the engine. Sorry they are not more clear. But I am also looking for the air filter housing, if you happen to have one in good condition.

Kewlcat,
I have the air cleaner housing for sure, but I can't find that valve anywhere.
I am cleaning the garage up this weekend and I will keep looking for it.
It appears it has solenoid with wires hanging from it, and it attaches with
two screws to the manifold. If I don't have one I am sure we can locate one
for you as most folks took the square tops off long ago.
Also when posting an image. Make sure there isn't any spaces
in the image info. Your image didn't come up for me , but it could
have been a program error. This is the image thats in the attachement

You will not need that piece if you go to a round top set up.
No need to replace the motor since the round tops bolt up
to you head and manifold with the right peices. My car had
the square tops and I removed them and put on the round
tops.

Thats my carb set up. I do have a complete early SU set up.
hope this help,
Mike
