Hi all. I just picked up this 260z and its the first z car I've ever owned. And I'm having a little trouble with her. For starters what I know about the car is it has a 4 speed manual and dual Weber's. Now the problem I'm having is this: under heavy acceleration or if I try to driveabove 2500 Rpm's the car acts like its out of gas, backfires and dies. When I pull over and pop the hood the forward Carb fil5er is empty but the rear Carb filter is half to full. I pull over for a minute, let it sit and she'll start up again. I have no experience with multiple Carb setups so this problem is kind of baffling to me. Is there another inline fuel filter after the tank that could be clogging? If so where would it be? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I need to get this thing running reliably so I can get to work asap. Thanks in advance!!!!

 

The 260z has 2 fuel pumps one electric and one manual. The manual runs off of the cam. The electric pump is located in the rear by the gas tank and has a filter inside it. Try checking that one. also you manual pump might be going out.
