i got a 78 280z its starts fine but floods out and i have the egr disabled, any ways to stop the car from flooding out and dying? without putting the egr back on.

Welcome to ZDriver! As long as the EGR port was sealed off correctly, that should be fine.
I suggest checking the coolant temp sensor and connection (square 2 prong) at the thermostat housing, and AFM / connection.
