Just got a 77 280z. Hasn't run in 5 years. turns over fine and has power at the coil but no spark. Pulled the coil wire off the dist and checked from the coil to ground. no spark. everthing looks good. but I don't know how to check the Ignition control. It also has power to it. Suggestions?

 

Welcome to Zdriver! #1 download the fsm for your car from xenons30.com. #2 read it so you understand how it all works. #3 Don't turn over a car that has been sitting for that long. (To late to be #1) #4 drain the tank and replace the fuel filters because spark won't help without fuel. Make sure you purge the lines. You can do this by disconnecting the return line to the tank. Then disconnect the small wire from the starter and turn the key to start. This will run the pump. Now you can step through the fsm to correct the problems. The fsm will save you lots of time and money.
