Muffler upgrade suggestions

I'm looking to upgrade the muffler on my 71 240 and wanted to know if anyone had any suggestions. My son wanted it to have a more sporty sound. Can this be accomplished with just a muffler upgrade or will i need to replace more? Any other technical considerations I should be aware of?

Thanks

might want to look into rules/ regulations of what state your in

some differ from others..

on my first z it was quiet and boring and i had the same inspirations as your son has.. so i chopped the muffler off and loved it without one. haha

but any sort of straight thru design with baffling inside would be a good choice if your looking for a "cheap" upgrade..

or you could go flowmaster, or something else stainless and pretty

I just ran 2 3/4 straight pipe and then I bought one on those low buck fireball mufflers off e bay the universal kind but the baffle that bolts into it is junk and fell out but no worries sounds better loud ... At least in my opinion.. The real beauty though is that the whole exhaust on my car the rising sun was shot heck it had no exhaust and was loud as that thing fellas I got 50 bucks in the whole thing just by doing it all myself the pipe didn't cost 25 bones the hard part was guestamating my bends but even that ain't tough ... In short the best 50 bucks I have spent words can't explain how this thing sounds. Hope this sways your decision ...
