did it have it

a friend told me that the z cars came out with dual over head cams is that true.

completely false. There is a special OS GIKEN head out with DOHC, but not stock.

Please be more specific as to what year and model you are asking about.

If you are asking about the 204Z, 260Z, 280Z, or 280ZX the no. I personally do not know much about the later cars so I'm not in a position to answer beyond this.

Looking through MSA and Vic Brit last night to get all my rebuild supplies ordered, and did notice in the timing section that you can get "sprocket, cam, left" and "sprocket, cam, right" for Z's starting in 84 (the 300zx first year).

The 300ZX and up have twin cam (right?) due to the fact that they are a V6 motor.
