Aftermarket Airconditioning Options?

One word...

HOT!

I drove to Irvine today from Apple Valley in mid-80,s temperatures and just about died. Don't want to find out what this is going to feel like in another month or two.

Is there any availabe aftermaket airconditioning solutions for the 260Z?

My car came with airconditioning but at this time all I have are the pump, pump bracket and condensor, (looks kind of like a radiator).

Any airconditioning shops in SoCal that will install a custom system? Possibily like the kinds sold in Hotrod shops?

Mike

Correct. I called and talked to a Tech today, they recommended their Gen II Mini at approximatley $1200.00

Found a shop in Santa Ana that will install a "Superior Air Conditionion System", (Superior is the manufacture/brand), for $2000.00

There is also a complete aftermarket replacement that cost $1000.00 and I found a shop in Arizona that installs these for a quoated price of $300.00 It was noted that this kit uses 30 year old technology and would not blow as cold as a Vintage Air system.

Found a lot of options including a junked out 1974 260Z with a complete air-conditioning system intact. Did't know to look for rubber hoses or copper hoses to determine if the system is factory or orignial. I'm going to go back over and take another look but so far I'm leaning towards going with the Vintage Air System.

When I bought the car with 60,000 miles on it I had to remove the heater box because a rat had made it's nest in the heater box and the water temperature control valve was leaking. When I disassembled the dash the vinyl and foam came off in chunks so after installing dialing-in the air conditioning system I'll be looking to have the dash recovered.

At least it's easy to get to everything!
