75 280 idles but hestates to rev and refuses to move!

I just bought this car for 700 bucks to fix up a little in my free time. The previous owner did the following

-aftermarket fuel pump
-random wires in the injection wiring
-alternator straight to battery
-if you touch any part of the engine you get shocked when it is running

Symptoms. Starts and idles ok.

Major hesitation to rev but will slowly make it to 5500

Will bog down immediately if I try to drive it. (no torque)

Could the fuel pressure have something to do with this???

Please help!

Based on this information, you much more likely have electrical problems. Not sure what issues your alternator can make, but it does sound like you're having spark issues.

Check everything from your ignition coil, distributor, cap, rotor, wires, and plugs, and if they are remotely iffy replace them. It's worth it.

I disconnected the alternator. I know its not causing the problems. The distributor is good and the timing it fine. The plugs aren't fouled or anything either. I checked the 2 sensors for the fuel injection at the front of the engine for corrosion but they were fine. However the electrical problem is horrifying in this car. The fuel injectors tick and spark when the car is not on and the key is turned. Alot of the fuel system components have been altered or removed. I just wanna know if a really high fuel flow can bog down the engine. Now this car has a switch to turn the fuel pump on and off. When I turn it off it revs good for like 2 seconds
