4-speed to a 5-speed

I want to replace my 4-speed in my '78' 280Z with a 5-speed. I'm replacing the clutch anyway. What changes do I need to deal with by going to a 5-speed? I tried "searching" for this info, but was not successful. Many thanks!

All you need is a 5 speed from a '79-'83 280zx. You also need the clutch fork and T.O bearing. Same clutch you already have in.

I sourced one out of Arizona. My clutch is 8 7/8" disc, so I'm thinking of getting the larger one (9 7/16) with a larger flywheel. Are you saying the clutch fork in the car won't work with a 5-speed? Also, the TO Bearing comes with the clutch kit, so I'm assuming it would be correct. Speedo issues? Nice to know I don't need to replace the diff. Many thanks for your help.

The larger flywheel takes more hp to turn. You're better off with a higher grade clutch. The later fork is slightly different with same bearing but different hub. It might not make any difference I just used it because it seemed hd. Use the speedo gear out of your 4 speed. They are color coded.
