Question about poly bushings????
if you have drivetrain noise then you have some other problems. just like kasbekz said u might hear more road noise but the NEW bushings will help you out more. If you are unhappy with the noise from outside then you should look into sound proofing your car. but its a 30+ year old car so road noise should be the last thing to worry about. Poly bushings might give you a harder ride then regular rubber bushings if thats what your asking.
I do realize the poly bushings are better and I do intend on keeping them in the sway bars, rack, and steering coupler. I'm just not sure about the tranny mount and mustach bar. My Z is a 78 mostly all original. It has 79K highly documented miles, has never been touched with paint, dash is original with no cracks. Not a speck of rust anywhere on or under the car. An all around nice representation of the Z car. Due to the wonderful condition of this Z car, I'm looking to keep a close to stock ride and feel. Since I put the poly bushings, I hear drivetrain noise that I don't remember hearing before doing the bushings. I'm just not sure if its from the bushings or i've got another problem that has just started.
any thoughts??

honestly the moustache bar mounts in poly will be nice a tight so the rear end will sit stiffer the tranny mount bushing wont really change anything for you but its always good to get new bushing on a car this old, i went poly bushings ALL and i literally mean ALL around my 280Z and its really tightened things up. didnt make the ride more harsh just less give in all the spots stress is exerted made the car jsut feel more solid
I just recently changed back to OEM on the M Bar on my Z. The road noise from the tires/pavement and the gear whine is almost completely gone. It was noisy before. And no there is nothing the matter with the Diff or Tranny. Personally I have gone back to rubber and no squeaks either. Now I have this Z for the street and not track use. The Z is driven 75% of the time in the mountains at speed and she handles great with Euro Stage 1 springs and KYB struts. She is lowered about 2'' front and back. Polly is super for the track use.
