Which Z should i buy?
Hey whats up guys I'm new to Z driver and i would like a good honest opinion on what Z to purchase.
im really just looking for a DD and along the way i would be doing work on it on weekends and such.
now im torn between a 74 260z and a 83 280zx.
issues on the 74 are small rust spots on drivers side fender and rear, also needs transmission oil change but lots of upgrades.
the ZX needs the Vacuum hoses replaced and a new wheel and tire.
i prefer the 260z look but also favor ttop.
or should i see what better things come along the way. i have 3k to spend on thanks.

Welcome to ZDriver!
Both of those are nice finds! The 260Z would be a definite fun cruiser while the 280ZX 2+2 would be a bit more practical for all around driving...
It's all up to you and how much you want to work / spend on it.

Before you buy either you need to decide which body style you really want. I have a 280ZX 2 seater and thought I absolutly loved my car. Then I saw a 260Z that I loved even more. Oh well. I will just buy it too.
But anyways, forget about the money for now. Forget about everything except which model you like better. Then you can decide if the one you found is worth the money. If its not dont settle for the other car, wait until you find the model you like that is worth the money. You will be more willing to spend whatever it takes to make the car perfect if you buy the right car in the first place.

But yeah, make sure which one you want more, or else you'll get buyers remorse on something you can't exactly return

Engine pics. Pretty rough.
side shot
Needs attention
problems im having right now
is that its idle is pretty high about 1200
seems like i have a misfire on one of the cylinders (needs spark plugs)
and my gas tank sounds as though its pushing out air and sucking in the gas cap. (fuel pump prob maybe)
and i just replaced the brake booster.
