Scarab fenders
In the process of bettering my Z I want to do some really wide rear fenders like the scarab ones. Even if I can't find a pair of them I think I can cut my current fenders out and move them like 3-4 in. out then fill the gap with sheet metal and then tig weld it all up

That's so sick! I saw an article years ago that showed how to cut the fenders off a doner car and weld them on the old fenders. I don't think it would be that hard to do if you have the tools.

I found out about them on zhome.com but all they had was pics. There is a z junkyard about 25 miles from me so I think I will go out there w/ a battery sawz-all and have at it at this "complete" 260z (except the gas cap and gas door which I already took). I think after I weld on the new fender I can cut the original wheelwell back a few inches so that the tires will clear.

Here's a place that sells a "California Z" kit that has similar fenders to the one in the picture. I found this site a long time ago when looking for big fenders for my car. California Z
