Removal of rear interior trim panels

Hey, I am messing around with putting some speakers(something cheap;nothing in there now) in the rear of my car.

I am was trying to get the rear interior trim panel(passenger side) out and I can't seem to get it out for fear of cracking it. I have taken out the rear tail light covers in hopes for more clearance but that did not work. Any tricks for getting these out? Thanks, Jeff

Speaker Mounting in Rear

The person who had my car before me put speakers in the back panel (where the tail light pop outs are). He used a spacer and then attached everything to the back panel. I have an unmolested panel, which I can use to replace the one he cut (for the speakers), but I put his panel, with speakers, back into the car so I could use my stereo for now (supposed to be temporary). After driving around with this set up for a while, it doesn't sound or look too bad. I might just keep it in there.

take off the struts that hold the hatch open. undo the clips. they should just push the center and collapse in if i remember. i thought it was pretty simple

I looked briefly at it and it looked like the bracket was welded to the body. That is why I asked. I take it there is a bolt there huh?
