r180 to a r200 swap yesterday
i'm new to this forum, and new to the z world, i bought a 78 2+2 from a couple of friends and got hooked, dont really want to drive my new blaser now just the z. any how have been doing a few up grades to get rid of the automatic trans and the r180 rear. bought a 80zx for a parts donor for $90 and got the five speed and r200, this is where my trouble began. no mustash bar on the 80 and after i got the r200 installed after 8, thats right 8 hours and lots of swearing later i find out that the r180 had a different bar than the r200. so now my drive shaft is eating away at my tranny. should have guessed that something was wrong after i had to open the holes on the mustash bar with a carbide bit to allow the studs to fit. if anyone out there has a spare r200 mustash bar on hand i'll buy it and pay for shipping.
thanks in advance

When you do install the new m bar it must be turned around and faced the oppisite direction . Look at the purches they need to face the oppisite direction that the old 180 bar did. I cannot help with the new bar but if you are in the US there should not be a problem finding one.
