My adult sons picked up a 280Z as a project car...what advice can you give for cleaning the interior fabric? Also there are a few small rust spots, is this something a MOM can handle? The boys have the engine in the shop and rod bearings go in next. I am learning a lot on your forum. THANKS!

Yes yes! Welcome to ZDriver!

Purple Power from Autozone / Checker works great on carpet stains. Spray some on, let it soak, rub it into a foam, rub it off w/ a clean wet rag.

Welcome to Z Driver! Glad to see someone bringing another 280Z back to life! Rust totally depends on where it is and how far it goes, pictures are very helpful for this. There are some good threads on here about that. Search only within the 240Z, 260Z, 280Z forum for "rust" and they should show up. Notice that you get a lot of threads in that search. Rust is the A-1 problem on the first generation Z, but it is fixable. For upholstery cleaning, I've always like Lifter 1, which I used to get at Checker. It's kind of expensive and nasty (it smells like it must just be a can of straight dry cleaning fluid), so I might try NismoPick's suggestion of Purple Power first. Worst case, a new upholstery kit for the seats isn't usually too expensive. Again, welcome to Z Driver!
