The Headlight Thread

Alright... Simply put, the 7 inch factory sealed beams are just about worthless compared to newer style h4, projector, and HID conversions..

What do you have besides stock, where did you get it, what is your thoughts, and what did you pay... Three things, pretty easy.

I am looking at these. But, from what I can see in the picture, they protrude in a convex way.. I think that would look kinda funny. But, I bet I could mount them another way.

No. Not really what I was talking about. Don't need to know how to do it. They make projector kits to replace the 7" round headlights anyway. I don't think I would go to the trouble of making one.

But, that is what one person did. So, in a way that is what I was curious about.

I just wanted to see what other people had done to their car.

So... Post your headlight mod. Don't be shy.

I've got stand alone projectors & I know there's several people on Hybridz w/ projectors.

Here's mine (courtesy of Bleach's website):

$640 for a pair of those true HID projectors

I used diamond back Eurolite H4 conversions with 80/100w bulbs and wired in relays to take the load. I paid $32 for the housings, and about $16 for the bulbs. The website I bought them from is gone now.

Somehow wiring in the relay for the low beam cut out my factory high beams even though they were still connected. I never did look into figuring this out.

I'd say they were a 40% improvement over stock. Better but still not satisfied since I really like good headlights.

so was he. he never said anything about HIDs on the car in his sig, which is not a 240z anyways. it is a Fairlady Z. a 240z is LHD with L24. the car in his sig has an L20 and is RHD. and it has a factory 5 speed too (not a 240z option).

FAIL!

No pics, but I'm using Autopal E-codes with Silverstar bulbs and it's pretty good, but still not as great as a modern car like my bros' Scion tC or Spec V Sentra. I had to add in some driving lights to make things acceptable for me.
