Does anyone have any pictures of custom aftermarket stereo mounts? My console is busted up, and the stereo seems to be just sitting behind it.

Is the stereo supposed to just mount to the plastic center console and sit unrestrained on that little metal bracket that spans the wings of the console?

Also, some people have nice plastic covers that their faceplate sticks out of. Are these purchaseable?

Just get a plastic sheet, masonite, or whatever you want to make the mounting plate.

 

Masonite, that's a great idea! I searched pretty furiously for pics and still haven't found the detailed kind of pictures I was looking for.

I'll do my best to create my own mount out of some aluminum railing. My goal is to secure it to the frame of the temp controls and car instead of the center console. That way I don't risk cracking the console and I can yank the console and the stereo will stay put.
