I have 1976 280z and I just got a real nice set of seats out of a 240z. I took my seats out and compared them. It seems that the 280z has a bar/clip that the rails connect to. Well the bolts are fixed on both ends, so I cant take them off. So my choices are either find new bars/clips or take the (240z) seats off of the rails (which are also on opposite sides) and put them on the 280z rails. Or maybe there is another option. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Or how do you take the rails off (they bars won't come all the way off)? Is there an easy way to take the rails off? Maybe a release point or spot on the rails?
Thanks.

A good read on 280Z seat options: 280Z Seat swap list - HybridZ

What do you mean the bolts are "fixed" on? As in welded on? Pics?

Break out the grinder and cut off the bolt heads... then fab up the other rails. Hopefully you have a grinder and welder.

Here are some pics of the brackets I'm talking about. Are these normal for 280z seats? And does anyone have any for sale?

Thanks!

I have some seats in my 78 parts car that are in good condition, no clue what car they came out of but fit well. Can take a picture of them if you like, also where are you located, may not be feasible if your too far, lol.

I'm in the Philly area, but I already have some great seats (so I don't need other ones), thanks though.

Ok, so I've gotten to the point where I think switching the rails is the logical answers. How do you get the rails off of the seats?
Thanks!
