Hey yall, I'm new here and I just bought a 79 280zx the previous owner decided to make his own tail lights and they look horrendous. So I'm looking for a solution since tail lights seem to be unobtanium for this specific model.
Does anyone know if any other year tail lights fit in place of the 79's?

1979 to 1983 will interchange as long as you get the mounting brackets with the tail lights. The brackets are the same for 1979 to 1981 and the same for 1982 to 1983. Electrical connectors should be the same and not an issue. The tail light lenses changed in 1982 to a new design. I found this picture on the net and it give you an idea of what they look like. Don't know who did the artwork but it is great. Would love to give credit to someone.

So if you get the 83 lights and brackets it would fit in the 79's? Is that what I'm understanding? Thanks for that info!
