1985 300zx turbo ECU and cross-member needed!
I am in need of an ECU for a 1985 300zx turbo, (manual transmission, non-California) and a turbo cross-member. If anyone has anything, please let me know. Pm is fine, thanks!

You can check out your part numbers at resources:z31_ecu_list [Z31.com]
If nobody here has what you need, check out car-part.com, sort search results for 'engine computer' by distance from your zip code. You may be able to drive there to check it out up close and haggle over the price. Getting a return warranty is kinda shaky for electrical parts - but it can be done if the yard doesn't think you are out to screw them. Just smile a lot.
If you're lucky, you find a junker right there on the lot - with a dozen good parts you could use!
By the way, there have been posts on this site from guys who know how to check out, repair and even upgrade Z31 ECUs. You may want to search out and check with those guys if you are sure your prob is your ECU. Just another solution.

1985 300zx turbo ECU and cross-member needed
Thanks for the info. I'm actually converting my NA 300zx to turbo, my old ECU is fine. I will check around a little bit on that site. I haven't seen any Z's in the junkyards near me, though. (Utah)

Is there a difference
Looking at the FSM, there seems to be just one front suspension cross member part number, do you have a reference with a part number other than that, it seems its the same part, even courtesy has them all listed with the same diagram, as if there was no real difference. At about $500 its pretty expensive new, I have an 86 turbo, but to get to the cross member you have to remove the entire front suspension, if they are really different, can it not be modded by a good fabricator ?

I still think I need the turbo crossmember.. redz31 goes through it here.
Z31 Turbo Conversion: PART 2
I guess I should worry about it when I am ready to drop the engine in. Then I will find out what's what.

Clear difference
The picture is pretty clear , the mount on the right side is completely different. No idea why, which makes me think, will putting an NA motor in a turbo car , the opposite of what your are doing require the non turbo cross member ? because that was my plan, although, if I can I am making an offer on a VG30det out of a local car that is being parted.

Parting 86
I thought I had one, but the PO, modding the car for a TT he must of cut them up, and welded new motor mounts, the steering looked in good shape, but the cross member is toast as far as what you needed, I just dropped it out on the ground and started cleaning it and noticed all the crap welds and cut/ grinder marks.
