Z got Rocked

Hit a damn boulder that fell off a truck right into the turn lane that I just pulled into last night. I know that the strut is broken, not sure what else. This sucks you cant keep anything nice in this town because of all the construction. I'm all for progress but F**k it road hazards suck.
The only good thing today is that I passed the state and national real estate exam on the first try!
But I have to drive the Chevy Equinox piece of turd until I get the Z back.

First off, congrats on the exam! Thats a hard test to pass. Do you know where you are going to hang your license yet?

Second. That sucks about the rock. So are you going to order new OEM stuff or go aftermarket? Whatever you do I will help you fix it if you need me to.

Thanks Rob. I'm thinking about buy an Armada and I need to buy it before the end of the year to take advantage of the tax laws before they change. Hmmm V8 Nissan. I was talking to Jim up at Desert Nissan about the possibility of shoe horning that V8 into my 350. It will still sit the same as the pictures above.

Probaby hang the license with a guy that I have known for awhile.

Right now I'm just going with the stock replacements. If I report it to my Ins that is all they will fix and I need a quick fix too. Thanks for the offer of help too

Man that sucks! Sorry about your car. I've learned my lesson from just the multiple chips in the windshield from all of the construction. I don't drive the highways anymore (maybe the 95 every once in a while) I just take the surface streets to where I want to go.

Got my car back. $800 dollars after everything. Thanks Jim. Anyway I think it still needs a wheel balance because there is still a vibration and shake. I want to take it to that rim shop on boulder hwy. That way I can get both wheels checked at the same time.

Broken right strut, bent control arm + alignment and labor. It feels tight except for the shake around 50 mph

It was the tire. I was going to take it over to the wheel guys today but I had to be at my other house first so they could finish the drywall repairs. Got on the freeway and about a mile down the road I heard whop whop whop! Pulled over because I thought the tire was getting ready to blow but couldn't find anything wrong. Checked the belt under the hood, still nothing. Started the car and got 5 feet; same noise. So I cranked the wheel hard to the right and looked again. There was a two foot long section of rubber grooved out of center of the tire from when it dropped on the shock mount, hanging loose and slapping the inner liner when I moved the car. New tire $160. I'm still going to take by the wheel guys because the right front lip is slightly bent too. Damn!

Geeze. The guys at Desert Nissan didn't tell you that you had a problem with your tire? They had to take it off and I don't think they would have missed that.

Jim was gone to lunch by the time I got there. The other guy was lost. I found a piece of tire in my car later on when I went to put the cover back over the tow loop. The car still has a slight shake. I'm not sure if it's the wheels or not. Feels like it coming from the rear, not much through the steering wheel. I stopped by 360 auto and he says that he can probably fix my front wheels. There is a slight chance they might leak later though.
