looks like racer factory is there this weekend - i went to their event in march, it was great. lots of quality instructors and i think this time they'll include transponders with your fees. racerfactory.com.

i might do that this weekend - saturday most likely.

 

Damn, I wanted to go to that but I have people in town, plus NHRA is this weekend.

 

I will be at the Racer Factory event. I am planning on going both days, but there is a chance I will only be able to make it Sunday.

 

I'm 80% sure I'll be there on Saturday - can't pass up the transponders.

EDIT: If you are only going for one day, go Sunday. There will be less people, and then we could do some videography of eachother on track.

 

Dammit I was hoping to see some of you HOs out at NHRA this week. I'm going to be working the event all 4 days (hopefully at the starting line or staging lanes). If you guys do end up going look me up...can't miss me....big yellow shirt.....

I'm leaning towards Sunday now - need time to get the car ready anyway - anyone have a portable TV so I can get my football fix?

 

I will be there both days now. There was a chance my car was going to be in a video shoot for SEMA Saturday, but that fell through because they don't want to use a sport compact anymore...racists.

 

Just got the call: my Quaife install is complete. Now I'll be able to put my power to the road. Can't wait for the track now. Just need to put in my HP+ pads in the front, swap tires, and I'll be set. If you're for sure going Saturday, I'll go then as well. Should be able to get some nice videos - camera on the back filming the car behind you is my favorite.

I just looked at the schedule...

5 30min. sessions per day! Thats 2.5 hours of seat time for the whole day, 5 hours for the weekend! We will learn that new configuration by the end of Saturday.

 

I just put on some Hawk HP+ pads on the front and went to bed them in. After about 8 high speed brakes, they started to smoke. Is this normal?

 

yes it is. its the anti-rust coating that comes on new pads

It was an awesome day out at the track today. The new extension is rediculously fun. I was behind Rob when he lost control of his car, I got fastest time in Intermediate 3 out of 4 times, and my car didn't break. What more could you ask for?

 

Props to Mike - he smoked all of us intermediates - it was a great day and my car is only kinda broken. My right rear brake pad is all screwy, I think it fell off or something on my last lap or two. Driving home to a metal on metal grind.

Thanks for the props by the way. Today was pretty good, but I left halfway through the day because my tires were shot. I just kept getting slower and slower as my tires got worse and worse. Somehow I lost an exhaust hanger so now my exhaust rattles. Its still driveable, but annoying. I managed to pull some 2:48.XXX laps and that was as fast as it got.
