Thanks John!
Thanks John!
I just wanted to than John (Late Apex) on behalf of myself and my dad for being our instructors this weekend at the LVRSCCA/LVRPCA Track Days in Pahrump. I only had John ride shotgun for I think 1 or 2 sessions, but he showed me some awesome new lines in some of the turns that I ended up using the whole weekend. My dad also raved about John's instructing and also liked his lines better than the rest of the instructor's lines. He also has these cool earpiece microphone things so you can communicate with him while he is in you car (it gets pretty loud with the windows down and the engine constantly between 3000 and 7000 rpms. I don't know if Ty had John ride in his car, but I know that John took Ty, and myself, out for rides in his '73 Porsche 914-6. So if you want to go out and learn how to drive on a race track, go to a local PCA event and have John ride with you.
Yeah, John was awesome not to mention that he is freakin fast in that 914. Riding along in his 914 really opened my mind, for lack of a better expression, to how cars handle. I didn't get a chance to get a ride with him in my G, maybe next time.
Thanks guys. It was truely my pleasure. I really enjoy sharing my passion for motorsports. I had a lot of fun this weekend at the track. (Why else would I be wearing nomex when it is 102 degrees outside) I am glad you came out to play. Next time I hope more of our club members will show up and share the experience. I promise to bring my 350Z out for at least one of the days.
I have a bunch of photos that I need to download. I will post some of the better ones as soon as I have a chance, tomorrow or the next day. Right now I need to get some sleep. It is a bitch having to go to work, but without a paycheck I couldn't pay for all my toys.

Here is some pics that Mike @ TrackDay.net took. There is a good one of Ty and one of John driving my car with me in the passenger seat.

Most of that dust is from the skid pad. I did end up going off course in turn 3, but I recovered and got right back on. Jim might have it on video, it happened right after I passed him. I just could not get a feel for turn 3 at all, the rest of the track I had a pretty good handle on.

I showed Ty the proper way to handle a spin when he rode with me.
Good pics John! If you don't mind sending the pics of me and my dad and our cars to mbonanni1856@gmail.com. Thanks!
