It was nice to see all the Z's there last night(and the ole Porsche). Hopefully another outside dinner isn't scheduled until the temp drops 20-30 degrees.

Don't remind me. You have probably already seen this, but it's still funny.

25 signs that you've grown up:

1. Your houseplants are alive, and you can't smoke any of them.

2. Having sex in a single bed is out of the question.

3. You keep more food than beer in the fridge.

4. 6:00am is when you get up, not when you go to bed.

5. You hear your favorite song in an elevator.

6. You watch the Weather Channel.

7. Your friends marry and divorce instead of "hook up" and "breakup"

8. You go from 130 days of vacation time to 14.

9. Jeans and a sweater no longer qualify as "dressed up"

10. You're the one calling the police because those %&@# kids next door
won't turn down the stereo.

11. Older relatives feel comfortable telling sex jokes around you.

13. Your car insurance goes down and your car payments go up.

14. You feed your dog Science Diet instead of McDonald's leftovers.

15. Sleeping on the couch makes your back hurt.

16. You take naps from noon to 6pm.

17. Dinner and a movie is the whole date instead of the beginning of
one.

18. Eating a basket of chicken wings at 3 AM would severely upset,
rather than settle, your stomach.

19. You go to the drug store for ibuprofen and antacid, not condoms and
pregnancy tests.

20. A $4.00 bottle of wine is no longer "pretty good stuff."

21. You actually eat breakfast food at breakfast time.

22. "I just can't drink the way I used to" replaces "I'm never going to
drink that much again!"

23. 90% of the time you spend in front of a computer is for real work.

24. You drink at home to save money before going to a bar.

25. You read this entire list looking desperately for one sign that
doesn't apply to you and can't find one to save your sorry old butt.

I ended up installing my roll bar because it has been sitting in my living room for a month and I was sick of it.

Hell yes I'm jealous. I'd love to be a 20 something real estate tycoon. I was married in the military and working a second job delivering pizza just to get by when I was your age.

God I feel old.

That's easy to say when you have the material things! I've been on both sides of the fence and have to say that the material side of things is much nicer. I wish my parents would have been rich so I wouldn't have had to bust my a$$ to get to where I am now...and now I'm going to have to take a step back and put life on hold for a few years to get the big prize.

This was not an attack on well off people, but as they say, "Money makes money." You have to have lots of it to make lots more. I just wish my parents would actually had some to help me started better in life...oh well.

But I've had some killer experiences when I was poor and destitute that I would have never had otherwise. I guess all is good..as long as it's in the past!

Contrary to what you may believe, my parents were dirt poor until about 3 years ago. Not only that, but I have always paid my own way and have made it a personal goal to never have to ask them for money. Here's how I started. I paid for my first car with savings bonds that my grandpa gave me when I was a kid and I worked as a bus boy to pay for the rest. Sold that and paid cash for the Chevelle Then I used that as my daily driver (with no a/c) for a couple years until I saved up enough from lifeguarding to put money down on a small Nissan pickup truck. Then I did the same with a base model V6 Dodge Ram and then an Expedition. By that time I was in real estate school and getting in on a first time buyers loan on a 987 sq.ft. condo. The loan was no money down, 100% financing so it cost me nothing to get in. In two years I sold it for an $80,000.00 profit which bought me the 350Z and all of my mods for it. It also got me into the house I am living in now. In the meantime, I was sick of being a lifeguard so I got my real estate license. I still have not made any big checks in real estate and am still living off of the money from my condo. Next year will be the year where all of my big checks come in. So there you have it. Anybody can make their own money. You just have to go out there and find your opportunities.

Mike, my reply was not directed at you but simply a response to your comment, "Life is about experiences not material things." I don't pretend to know you or your parent's situtations and I honestly was not trying to imply anything. Read my comment again without thinking it was directed at anyone and you can see that. When I said "That's easy to say when you have the material things!" I am saying that knowing I am on the material side of things and knowing how much it sucks on the other side.

You and I need to get together for lunch one day to that you can give me some advice about how to get started in real estate. It seems to be a lucrative field and I've been interested in dabbling in it. I just don't know enough about how to get started.
