Nismo Cold Air Intake

I'm thinking about purchasing Nismo Cold Air Intake for $280 + tax. ( roughly around $300) I'm planning on buying at Desert Nissan Parts dept. Is it a good price for intakes? Nismo intakes worth the money? Desert Nissan a good dealership? haha. Thank you!`

Most people believe that the JWT popcharger is the best bang for the buck on intakes. It can be picked up from mynismo.com for about $120. On the JWT site they claim a 6.5 whp increase. I personally wouldnt get anything from nismo. Their products are very expensive and dont give the gains that other companies offer. Same thing with all companies that are manufacturer oriented such as TRD (Toyota) and GM performance.
I also dont like where the filter on cold air intakes sit. In most case it is very hard to access the filter to clean or change it.

My recommendation is to get the JWT popcharger and also pick up an air duct such as the Varis or Evo-R. This way you get the throttle response of a short ram but also get the air from the air duct that a cold air would get.

I agree about not buying the Nismo.

About the most you'll get from the intake is the great sound and not much at all in the way of performance, as the oem airbox is quite efficient.

+1 for JWT pop-charger. Desert Nissan is a bad dealership, like the rest of them. Buy your parts on-line.

Installation is very easy. It should come with directions or if you want, you can ask the club if anybody wants to help with it.

I went with the Z-tube and K&N drop-in filter. Would switching to a JWT popcharger be worth the inve$tment?
