"New" exhaust installed

Installed Rob's "old" Borla non-dual exhaust after picking it up from his house. His dogs are so cool!

Without the magic of grease, the stock one would've never popped out of the rubber hangers. The hardest one was the rear right.

Whew!

The exhaust note on the Borla is a different during start up, deeper "grrrr". During idle, it's relatively quiet. When the vehicle is slowing down while in gear (3500 - 1500 rpm), there's a slight, smooth grunt. At WOT, it sounds smiliar to stock but with a little bit more kick.

Overall, I'm impressed with the sound it gave me since it was very close to what I was looking for.

Thanks Rob!

P.S. - I'll remember to get you what you need by next week.

P.P.S - Mike, got a new mod for the member's page!

Congrats on the new exhaust, Chris. Those rubbers can be a pain, unless there
properly lubed. hahaha

Yeah, it was hard to get the thing in there even when it was lubed. Almost tore a hole in the damn thing. If that would've happened, 9 months down the line I'd be in a world of *****.

For now, yes.

I'm assuming hi-flows or even a straight Y make a difference?

i cant speak from experience, but i would assume both would change the sound (removing cats more than changing y pipe)

I am finally getting to install my exhaust and springs/sways saturday.

That's a lot of work for one guy, especially when I'm over there and I have no tech sessions to get help from.

The mod bug isn't scratching as big as the hole that's burning in my pocket. I've got preparations for Germany to deal with. One word - IKEA.

Good to hear it worked out for you Cris - I just might be selling my springs in the next few months and I think those RSRs are hard to find nowadays.

Thanks Glenn!

I was gonna have Performance Nissan install the springs if I ever get them. Those sound like they're worth it!

Hmm, let me know since I'm heading down to SoCal on the 29th of this month. I saw some on eBay, for $299 + $15 s&h. It's a few bucks cheaper than Performance. Do you know the spring rate for the RSR? Did you install it yourself or did you have a shop do it?

A few months ago they were on back order, guess they're available now. I probably won't decide on them before March.

I chatted with Tony today and he said that the TI2000 will need to be special ordered from Japan. He also said that the ride with the Tanabe GF210s are the best he's ridden in, so I may veer towards that idea. Plus, it's less expensive and Mike (Zro) has them; hell Ty, Mike, and I installed them!

Tony also said that Performance overcharges on labor, so I was like yikes. He recommended one in Ontario for $125 (it was where he used to work). Then I need to get alignment done. The only reason why I wanted to have it installed there's because I might as well do it while I'm in Cali.

LOL Tony's great he always recommends other alternatives Performance charges more for labor but they do great work. If you do go there see Tim in service he's the best advisor they have.
