Navigator's Run 2007

Ok, so most everybody has heard of the Gumball Rally right? Well this is kind of the same thing, but in the US and much cheaper. There are also a ton of good prizes including $50k to the winner . It will start in Kansas City and span 2985 miles with stops in Denver, Las Vegas, Santa Fe, Dallas, and finally ending in Witchita, KS. The whole thing takes 5 days from start to finish. 7 days for us with travel times. They are only allowing 100 cars and the entry fee is $4,000 which INCLUDES a room in a 5 star hotel every night and catered parties at every stop with open bars, catered food, and live entertainment.

If my Z is streetable again by June 2007, then I will be attending this. Anyone want to join me?

I will have information packets and entry forms with me tomorrow night at the meet for whoever is interested.

Interesting. Is GPS allowed? You should contact Tom Tom and see if they'll sponsor you.

$4k is for both passenger and navigator I believe, and yes, Navigation is allowed.

I asked Mike from Navigator's Run the above questions and here is his response...

"$4k includes EVERYTHING but gas and a few meals.

It Includes:

Driver Entry
Navigator Entry
Chance at $50,000.00 CASH grand prize
Chance at other prize giveaways (plasma tvs, ps3s...)
All Hotels (6 nights)
All Breakfast Drivers Meetings
Handouts with Maps, Road Construction Updates, etc...
Entrance into Las Vegas Motor Speedway
Entrance into Texas Motor Speedway
Entrance into Mid America Drag Strip
Entrance into Bud Light Beer Garden
Entrance into Coors Beer Garden
Entrance into some clubs and a few other surprises
Stickers for your cars
DVD from AutoVision Entertainment covering the rally
-- You'll get the DVD before it hits the stores

I think that about covers it.

As far as Navi systems go, thats what this rally is all about! We'd expect people to use them. We encourage it! Whatever you have to do to get to the checkpoint ahead of everyone else. Don't hold out. Get creative."

With all of that included, its actually a pretty good deal.

^^^Yeah, $4gs is a lot, but when you think about all of the stuff you are getting for that money like 6 nights in 5 star hotels, breakfast every morning, etc, it really is a good deal, especially if you can find someone to split that cost with that is willing to help navigate and drive. Besides, you have a shot at anywhere from $5k to $50k for 1st - 3rd. I really want to do it next year.

The biggest hurdle will be getting the car to and from Kansas. It's like 1300 miles each way... Basically if we drive the car, it will make the entire trip twice lol.

You have to split the costs with me.

San Antonio is closer than Vegas.

It would be perfect if they would let you sign up for half of the event. $2k to run from Kansas City to Vegas, but stop there.

2600 miles in your car even after you get the interior back in might be kind of brutal.
