Last Night's Challenge
Well I really didn't see anyone else out there last night except Mike. Saw about 4 other Zs but didn't know if it was any of our guys from the board here or not. Last night was a pretty good night (cold )and I got to meet Tony from Performancenissanparts.com. He had his Z down for the carshow and all I can say is it was a friggin nice car! He went ahead and gave me about 40 business cards to hand out but I never see you guys except on rare occasions so I'm just going to post his personnal business card here:

I wanted to go, but my girl hesitated at the last minute and didn't want to go. She said, but you can go, though I want to spend some time with you - translation - you go, I'll give you a guilt trip for the next week; I was stuck between a rock and a hard place.
Awesome that you got to meet someone from Perf. Nissan! I was going to check that place out when I head down to Cali in Jan/Feb. It's near Rosemead, so I'll roll out there. Can you send out that card through distro to Cris Cheung/896 MUNS/MXMC (just kidding... but I wonder if you can do that?)

The track sucked last night. I am spoiled by the thursday night street wars events. Since they don't prep the track for midnight mayhem I couldn't get traction worth a damn. My best 60' was a 2.5-- and my best 1/4 was 14.3-- @ 100mph. I ran faster at the TNSW when it was 20 degrees hotter. It was nice seeing Zro though, even though he had to work.

^^^That sucked too. They had recently re-sealed the old track and that sealer crap melted to your tires and caused them to be VERY slippery. Put it this way, a bunch of people were spinning coming out of the hot pits because of the lack of traction.

Nope. The track makes you sign a waver before you even step on their property. Most insurance companies won't cover you while you are out there, either (mine does!). If anything, the group organizing the outing is responsible, i.e. Redline.

Redline wont be liable either since they had their own waiver. I don't think they should be liable for his Lotus catching on fire because that didn't have anything to do with Redline. However if the guy had been hurt in the incident, then I would have held them liable for not having fire bottles at the stations. The car had been on fire for almost half a lap before he pulled off the track so there was no saving that.

Actually in this instance the track may actually be liable. They should not of allowed the event to happen based on unsafe conditions. It is the job of the track to provide a safe enviroment to run on. As far as waivers go, almost all are useless.
I ran two sessions and my car is still burning as of last night. I need to drop the diffuser and figure out how to clean it off the exhaust.

USAA - as long as it's not a timed event, it's cool. I think.
