Me and Ray did some recon at the dam today. After surveying the helopad and factoring in the work required to make it accessible to our low vehicles, we decided to look for an alternate location. Further down the access road (and closer to the dam) the roadway widens for about a 200' section. This spot is ample enough to have our Z's park at a 45 degree angle with the dam as a backdrop. From this location, more of the dam will be in the photos and we can fit more cars. Since this is a regularily travelled portion of roadway, we will be limited to our photo shoot on a Saturday or Sunday. To ensure good lighting/shading, the best time for the shoot would be from about 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

So lets all try to agree on a date & time and make this happen. I'm available and of those days, since it is before my shift begins.

Hmmm, the 5th would conflict with the 40th installment of a great American past time known as the Superbowl.

 

The turnout along this road is will be the location. Driving the cars down to this spot will be ok (I've seen worse roads most of the places I've been in CA).

The natural slope of the road will put the photographer in a good position to have the dam centered behind the cars.

 

Dayum I forgot, the following weekend I'am in Pomona for the Winternationals.

 

What about the weekend of 11th or 12th?

The 9th- 12th NHRA Winternationals. Gotta go, I havent had my dose of nitromethane in awhile. Plus I already have 300.00 tickets.

 

I won't be able to make it for any dates from 6 Feb-18Feb. I will be in Nashville, TN for my 7-lvl upgrade training (military school). It looks like the Performance Nissan meet going to be the only thing that I'm going to be able to attend, and that will probably be too soon for me to get a bodykit put on the car for the show.

I would suggest to waiting, so most everyone can make it, seeing as HDPD has gone thru all the trouble to make this happen, arrangements, permission and such.

How does Sunday March 12th work for everyone?

 

I will simply "try" to make any date, but I cannot commit because I could either go to SLC or the wife might be down here to look for a home. So plan a date and I will do my best.
