I wanted to do this sometime either today or tomorrow. I called Ensmuns (since he's taken apart his headlights before) to see if he could help but he's not answering his phone. Anyone else done this before? I have the directions but I'm a wuss and hate doing things by myself.

If/when you do take your lights apart, lets make it a group session. I want to pull the strips out of mine

 

I've done it. Basically take them out and put them in the oven at 225 for 15 minutes. There's a good writeup on my350 somewhere....You have to take off the bumper to get to the bolts, so it's a long project.

okay okay....do we want to make this a group project for this weekend (Saturday maybe?) or do we want to set it for sometime in the future? I've been just sitting on my *** all day and wanted to do something worth while. I do, but if I take my amber strips out, do I have to put clear strips in or does it look good with none at all?

Looks like I am going to have to wait for clear corners. If I don't put them in, the bulb will be showing and it won't look right.

 

my advice is to reheat the lights a little before you put them back together to soften up the seal - if they are too cold they won't let you press them together completely. this wasn't in the directions i had.

 

Yeah I wanted to do this but the wife has the same days off as me this week and everytime I go to start something she pulls me away to do something she wants to do. Sorry about not calling you back Chris....somebody invited some friends over last night so I was busy entertaining guests.....
