Heads Up!!! Last TNSW for the year!

Just wanted to let you guys know that this Thursday is the last time Thursday Night Street Wars will be held for this year. I will, again, be working this event so I will not get a chance to compete with you guys if you show up. Please, if you guys do come out, show up EARLY!!! Even though this event is on a Thursday I'm sure we'll get bombarded with people like we did this last weekend for Midnight Mayhem (The news had said it was the last MM but the last one is on Dec 2nd). Being the first in line is the only way to ensure that you have a decent strip to run on and gauge your times. After about 30 or so cars the track starts to lose it's texture and stickiness and LVMS doesn't worry about going back over it with VHT and equipment to get it nice again during the event. Prices should be the same as usual along with the requirements. If your new and you want to come out bring your drivers license, registration and insurance. No helmet or special equipment required. I'll be working from 6:30p.m. to 1:30a.m. so I hope to see you guys out there for this event!

Sounds like a definite possibility - if I don't leave town earlier that day I'm in.

I have never been to one TNSW that was crowded so I wouldn't worry about it. Also, for the TNSW's that they have had so far, the track was prepped really well. They re-spray with VHT all of the time. Its just Midnight Mayhem that they don't prep the track. On that note, I am not going to be there. My tires are cording from the last track event so I don't feel safe even driving down there.

Mike...You're not keeping your RHs right? If I can get rid of my Axis sometime soon, I may want them--on that note, I want your rear strut bar cover, what'ya want for it? I will be in Germany for 2 weeks beginning on Saturday so if ya wanna sell it ASAP, gimme a call 287-4428. Otherwise I'll see you after my trip.

Just giving you guys a heads-up. LVMS pretty much told everyone last weekend, at MM, that this was the last TNSW. Considering the fact that around 350-360 cars showed up thinking last friday's MM was the last for the year I'm thinking it's going to be the same for TNSW. You guys can take the chance and show up later but don't say I didn't warn ya.

Yes, as long as Nissan finishes with my window motor replacement today. Not sure when, but I'll be there.

well, they are also looking into my ABS/Brake lights staying on. I think I screwed up the sensors when the diff was installed. Speedometer comes on around 20mph, same time the ABS lights up.

So they kept the car, did nothing, then gave it back to you? Where did you take it to?

True, but Planet has better rep than most dealerships. That, of course, is on paper. In reality, they might be the same with any other dealers.

Douglas, about 1 mile from my house. Rocky is a good guy (service rep), the rest are ******. No big deal to me. They just got tied up on other cars.

Oh man, do I have a story about Douglas. All I have to say is that the sales person was a cool, but the desk manager was the biggest ***** of them all. I would shift all my recommendations away from that place and point them somewhere else.

I have nothing but bad experiences at Douglass. I would definitely recommend Planet. Excellent guy at Planet that is very helpful is Brian Parker in the service department. Highly recommended.

^^^Yeah we had 3 guys show up last night: Rob, Joe and Smitty. Rob came up to the gate a couple of times to have a smoke I think. He said that 12.9 was about as good as it was going to get and he didn't think he would be it that night. Smitty and Joe were the first ones to show up and I talked with them for a while. Smitty wanted to get out and run his car since he's going to be gone for the next couple of weeks. I was going to see the guys off last night but I had some guys come in on some bikes at the last minute trying to bribe me to let them in. So I ran them off.....

Last night made it all worthwhile... car was scary fast!
Temp was 66 and barometer of 29.62 - a cool new feature of TNSW is they print this on your timeslip. Now they just need exact altitude. I was able to launch like a dream, last run I revved up to 4k rpms and took right off without any spinning. Could have probably pushed it even farther, but once I broke 13 seconds I was pumped. Here's the timeslip:

I thought it was cooling off out there.

Nice to see ya Zrolimit. I had fun out there being comfortable in the Lex(not a drag car by any means, wheel hop owns my alignment settings). Much better than the horror stories I've heard about MM and having to wait for 300+ other cars to run.

I sure hope they have TNSW next year. Attendance was pretty weak compared to MM on most nights. But that's what made TNSW great...low attendance and VHT.
