Aren't you waiting for the HKS to get in? I don't know about either, sorry.

I canceled the buy because of the H-Pipe.... I did not realize it was not "true" dual.

Yeah I noticed that last night. I was thinking it was just being used to hold the two pipes together, but I guess not.

Congrats on the AAM.
I think he was looking for a true two pipe setup. The HKS joins in the midpipe, making it an H instead of straight duals.

I think the H-Pipe would make much of a difference. I know that the HKS works great on Eagle1's built motor G35 with the JWT 700bb kit.

I have an X-Pipe on my 3" exhaust and the gains were insane. Just from switching from the Injen SES True Dual to the SVRTech 3" w/test pipe I gained 29rwhp and 72rwtq @ 14psi.

Also, are you 100% sure that the H-Pipe part of the HKS is open?

HKS just told me it IS a true dual. The bar going from both pipes is there to support the two pipes. I think love2ridepow was looking for 3" anyhow.

I guess you really can't believe all that you hear. The guy I was originally going to buy it from told me the H-pipe was open. Weird. Anywho, the 3" is on its way so I can't wait to see the results after a new tune. Probably going to have to take it easy before I get it tuned because I know I am going to have a lot more power without the tune....

I keep hearing that the H or Y pipe will increase the turbulance which negates the flow. And we all know how important exhaust flow is when the turbos are mounted directly to the manifolds. I don't think it would effect a rear placed turbo as much.

It all depends on the firing order of the car. At least thats true with the X pipes being successfull or not. Don't know too much about H or Y pipes.

Update:

SO last night Stan came over to help with the instal of the AAM. It took roughly 3 hours to remove the APS exhaust because the rubber hangers were a bitch to get off the muffler. Then we started to hang the new exhaust and had to make some modifications to a heat shield. Then we start hanging the mid pipes and what do you know - THE EXHAUST IS 8" TOO LONG! Apparently it came off a G so I am taking the mids to a shop to cut off the excess...should have it on by this afternoon!

p.s. the guy that sold it to me was really cool, he told me he verified with a shop that it would fit a Z and said for me to send him the bill....I told him no biggy and thank for being honest. Cool guy (Tengai - from my350z)

You forgot to mention the lack of light while we were working on it. Haha. Glad it worked out with tengai. Don't forget the mid pipe bracket when you finish it up.

You should have left it and started a new trend.

So is it back on yet or what?

It was beyond stupid loud with just the downpipes. Being in the garage sure didn't help either.
Update: Shop still has mid-pipe. Robert will be picking it up tomorrow afternoon. His exhaust should be done tomorrow evening.

I guess 304 SS is pretty tough stuff because the guy just told me he went through 4 blades and an hour and a half just to cut those and reweld. He did a great job with the weld. I will be putting these on tonight, just hope I got my measurments correct
