Club ride interest indicator.

Hey guys/gals, I was thinking about arranging a club ride. The idea I had in mind was for May 27th (Saturday). It would be a day-trip to Oatman, Arizona. I figure we could head out in the a.m. at 0800'ish and come back in the afternoon/evening. They have a gunfight event at 1:30p.m. (weather permitting) and other touris activities to do. Plus we would be able to drive a portion of Route 66.

Ghost town

Add name below if interested.

The Sin City Z Club meets up with the Desert Z (Arizona) and usually some CA Z clubs every year and they do a group drive through Oatman to Havasu for the fireworks trade show. I went a few years ago and had a blast. The road in and out of Oatman is awesome and the town itself is good for about an hour and a half of entertainment. With that being said, I would be interested.

I'm guesstimating about 2-3 hours each way. The route 66 portion is a nice curvy road from what I hear. I've never been to Oatman, but plenty of peeps ask me where it is at the Dam, so I figured it's about time for me to see the place myself. I know it's heavily popular with the Harley riders.

I doubt I can go. It is really hard for me to get off work on a Saturday. I save my 'sick calls' for track days. But for a group drive to Oatman . . . . put me down as a 'maybe'. The 2nd half of Route 66 from Kingman --> Oatman is a total blast. If you have never done it, put it on your 'must do' list. Once you have done it, you will want to do it again. (and again and again)

Gotta love that the first item on their website is that the public restrooms have been closed... I think that makes it more authentic.

Noticed today that the 27th is a holiday weekend, so that kills it for me on being able to get off work that day. How would the 20th of May work for everyone? I talked to my boss and that day is no problem for me.

Edit: 20th isn't good for Mike and he sugested a later date. Shouldn't be a problem with me. June 3rd maybe? Lets toss some dates around.

Don't change the date on account of just me. Go while the weather is good, unless there are more of us that cant go on the 20th.

It will be getting too hot pretty soon, so I say the sooner the better.

I know that my geek side is showing, but would anyone want to check out the meteor crater while we're out in that general direction?

How far away is the crater? Also, I should have a firm date for a Saturday that I can take off. I will post it later today. So far the 2 Saturdays before the 27th look good. The Sundays also look open if we decide on that date.

The crater is past Flagstaff so at least a couple of hours further. I've just always wanted to check it out and since we'll be half way there anyways I'll probably just shoot over there. Gotta check my calendar to confirm for those dates though.

Is this a go for the 20th ?

Curious to see who all is going, we'd like to get the stangs out and enjoy the cruise as well.
