Car Show this Sunday 6/4/06

The car show wasn't half bad. The worst part was the heat by far. The quality of cars was expected for the local scene. Most of the cars were not my style and the Zs were kinda out of place in this crowd. Even though they weren't my style, there were some cars/trucks/suvs out there that had a lot of quality workmanship and money put into them.
We actually had a good showing from the NV350Z / NVG35 club and hopefully will be adding a new member soon. That potential new member's name is Mike as well and he has a pretty sick black G35 coupe that took home 2nd Place in 2 Door Mild. He is a real nice guy and we talked about the club and the cars for a while. Some of us also got to meet salvo (Scott) and his wife and we finally determined that he has an Enthusiast model and not a base . SmittyZ33 (Brian) entered his awesome Z into the show and learned that car show judging is stupid after seeing what had taken 1st Place in 2 Door Mild. I personally think that Brian's Z would have taken 3rd if there were trophies for third place. Brian and Mike should have taken 1st and 2nd, but at least Mike still walked away with a trophy for his G35. Brian can't complain either because he won his entry fee back in a cash drawing which is worth more than the trophy anyways . Thanks to KennyZ as well for hanging out with Brian and I for literally the entire day in the sweltering heat even though his car was not entered into the show. Ty (roneski), Sam (Vegas Speedster), and even Joe (NismoZ33) each showed up for a bit as well. Jesse from J&J Vinyl also showed up and brought all of the decals for me so if you ordered some in the last batch let me know. He messed up a little and some of them that were supposed to be NV350Z ones were cut as NVG35 ones so let me know what you ordered and I will tell you if he got them right or not.
I ended up taking 1st Place out of a whopping two cars in the Muscle Car catagory with my Chevelle so that was cool. It came as a suprise to me since my competition was a incredible green '70 Dodge Challenger with 8 years of work into it. His Challenger was more original and mine was more "custom" so I guess it would have to depend on the judges. In a muscle car show, he would beat me out hands down, but in a show like todays, I guess "restored" doesn't go as far as "customized. But hey, thats car show judging for ya.
Despite 6 hours in the intense heat I had a good time. It was definately better than sitting at home watching daytime TV. And the best part is...I didn't even get sunburned! Pictures will be up on the website when I get around to it .

Nice to meet you guys and thanks for looking the Z over!
It didnt take long for my wife, Kim to get out of the heat and into J.C. Pennies, man I'm glad theres not much room in the back of the Z or she would have bought more stuff.
350ZNV congrats on the win, very nice Chevelle.
Mikes G35 is plush, congrats.
Brians defenantly should have been in the top 2 spots, Nice!
