Back from Cali...

I just got back from my mini vacation in Huntington Beach and I feel way out of the loop lol. Its good to see a couple of new guys coming over here to check us out and I look forward to seeing them at the events. Anyways, I will be in a desperate panic to get my car ready for Buttonwillow this coming weekend so If anybody wants to lend a hand let me know. I will probably be doing a couple of hours of work between 5:00pm and 8:00pm each night until my list of things to do on the car is complete. It feels good to be back after 4 days with no NV350Z lol.

You should have made to the Stillen show. It's only 30 minutes from da beach Awesome show with vendors, cars, tech sessions, and dyno runs. You would have loved it Mikey!!! Check out some of the pics on 350z motoring there has been a vid postec already too.

The trip was really fun but it was a bad time to leave work so I am suffering today because of that. I would have liked to go to the Stillen show, but I don't think that the rest of my group would be too interested in going.

Steve Millen's supercharger seminar which he conducted himself was very interesting. He explained why they went superchargers over turbos. CARB certification, he claims that the turbo engine will always fail the cold start part of the emissions test. He also claims that they have yet to lose an engine due to f/i. I just dont like the fact that the supercharger wont fit under a stock hood.

I'm still very tempted by the Stillen SC. I really like the Eaton twin screw design, it seems safe, no turbo lag, less maintenance, and the CARB cert is a big plus. I'm not a fan of the hood, but would it really look that bad on Ivory Pearl?

Plus I'm not looking to set any HP records. All I really want is about 300 to the wheels which should be safely achievable.

Yeah, I'm a little concerned about my turbo - right now you have no option but to delete the cats with this kit. But my registration expires in July, so I'll have a year or so to resolve the issue. APS claims to be working on it.

When I saw a Stillen SC Z at the track, he couldn't run cause he had broken a belt on the SC. That's the only problem I hear about them.

What happens if you break a belt while driving? Will the engine go back to acting normally aspirated or will it flood and shut down?

I think it runs normally, or at least doesn't do a lot of damage, the guy was driving the z to the auto parts store to get a belt.

Steve Millen said that they had a batch of bad belts awhile back so they changed brands and that solved the problem. With the 350 they have two hood designs, just one for the G.

I also learned that Mercedes is Eaton biggest customer.
