FYI...We are all meeting at Poppas to caravan to the "Street War." Bring your weapon of choice. Directions to Poppas...I-15 North from Vegas, get off at Craig and take Craig west. Poppas will be on the right less than a 1/2 mile from I-15. Those who want to eat (and the let me tell ya, the food is GOOD), please be there by 6:30PM. The service can be slow, so we want to make sure we are done eating and on the road by 7:30 or so.

Ok I am bringing two video cameras, one for in car and one for someone to use if they are spectating. Who is spectating?

 

I'd like to, but I don't have $5. And I won't be there until after 2300.

This event was way better than Midnight Mayhem. There were only a little over 100 cars there so you didn't have to wait more than 20min. for a run. I was the only 350Z to show up, and I met up with 2 G35 Coupes, 1 G35 Sedan, 1 Acura RSX, and one Chevy Silverado. I ran like crap spinning the tires a lot off of the line and in second gear. My best run was a 14.550 @ 97.74mph, but my fastest trap was 99.2mph. I really have to get some smaller lighter wheels on there, and I also had a full tank of gas. The G35 guys took some good pics, so once they post them on G35driver.com, I will put them over here.

I'm beginning to doubt if Rich (VegasSAEZ) actually exists.
What RPM were you launching at Mike? Between 2500 and 2800?
BTW, got my camera mounts and new video cam, should get some nice footage at the track this weekend.

 

Rich, does exist...I talked to him yesterday morning and he said he wasn't going to go because his tires were bald. He said that Sat. he was getting new tires, colder spark plugs, and a clutch/flywheel put on. He also said that he will be at MM on the 25th. I think he will show for that. He is expecting to run low 12s or even 11s, but I say he makes low 13s or high 12s.

As for launch rpm, my problem is that I can't keep the tack at a steady RPM for a good launch. It is way too touchy for me. I think its because the go pedal in the Z is electronic. I am used to a non electronic automatic in my '70 Chevelle.

Wow. That's ambitious. Considering gq626 has TT Greddy and his profile says 12.8 @ 114. And that's in NC, which is near sea-level.
Does Rich have drag radials?

 

No, thats why I say he will be low 13, high 12. The colder plugs, clutch and flywheel will help though. He ordered BFGoodrich G-Force TA KDW 285/35/19. Seeing as my modded Z runs .550 seconds slower than a stock Z at sea level with 93 octane, he may even be slower than that. I would be suprised if he breaks 12.5

I showed up at around 2330. It was nearly empty at the spectator parking lot, with a G35 coupe sitting there all by itself, a few Evos lined up side by side, a nice Porsche, a Supra, and a bunch of other various vehicles. At around that time, there weren't too many folks trying to run and the line was moderately short. I guess word hasn't really gotten out yet with this new event, considering it is a new one at that. I hope I can make the next Street Wars!

 

They had 140+ racers at one point. People were getting runs in about every 20-30 minutes. It started to clear out around 11:00.

 

Oh, that's why. I blame my job for not able to go earlier.
