Well I took my car out to Shady Side Dragway Sunday! I made 4 passes dialing in my new combo on the 1/8th mile track. My first pass was a 9.12 I bogged the engine real bad off the line and did a little better the second run with a 9.00. So after getting inspiration from my Brother on the phone it was decided that I would have to spike the turbo and hope the rear tires hooked. So on my third run I keep the revs up around 4-5K stabbing the throttle. Third light came on i left and she took off like a bat out of hell! it ran a 8.51@ 80.6mph. So now I'm confident that the car will hook I came back around and lined up beside a 65 Mustang with 8" slicks and a pretty healthy sounding motor, I had my brother on speaker phone and told him we were about to lose. I did my burnout and kept the throttle down until I passed the lights! I was going for a John Force burnout!!! So We lined up and I really reved the engine this time, I was hitting the rev limiter and then we took off! I pulled the mustang by a car and by the time I hit third gear i was out front about two lengths. It went a 8.36 and I don't know the MPH but it felt great! So as I'm slowing down and making my turn The rear end of my car made a loud pop and bang noise and I pulled off. I believe I exploded the Spider gears in the rear end. I will go straight but you cant turn with out it banging. So I hitched a ride home and got my truck and trailer and retrieved the broke Beast! I have another rear that will work better I am going to swap in tonight. Going from the stock 3.55 to the 3.7. We'll See Thanks, Josh

that's awesome. seems like a pretty slow finish speed for having just run a 8.5 doesn't it? it's still a beast though. good to hear.

 

The MPH does seem slow to me also but the ET wins the race! The guys at the track got a couple pics of my car there toward the bottom of the page!

I just bought new tires and am saving for some 19's . Trust me you will be the first to know when they go on the market. They would look sweet on your car!
