Hi, all...

The ZCCW will be holding our summer Driving School / Track Day Event at
Pacific Raceways again this year on Monday, August 1st. This year we
will be joined by the Definitive Driving Club from Vancouver BC. The
event format will be the same as we had last year, with an all day
session including breakfast and lunch for the participants. Like last
year, the more drivers we have attending, will determine the individual
costs. First time drivers as well as returning drivers are welcome, and
there will be separate driving opportunities for each group. Don at the
Proformance Racing School proposes that the day will go something like
this:

~At 8am we'll start with a group photo and then breakfast.

~After breakfast, the senior and more experienced drivers will take to
the track for a critical walk through/corner study and then do some
driving while the new and first time drivers will attend a morning
ground school.

~After the morning ground school and lapping for the experienced
drivers, the first timers will go out to the track for some safety
drivers training and braking exercises. After this, the two groups will
alternate track driving at this point.

~While the experienced drivers are having lunch, the first timers will
have their turn on the track with their instructors riding along. The
groups will alternate in approx.30 sessions and later in the day, both
groups will run together until 5 pm or so.

Don figures that everyone will get in around 200 miles in an all day
session like this. This length of time driving will really help you get
a good feel for the track and a good feel for your cars handling
abilities.

After the driving, certificates will be handed out, and you'll have
gotten some serious seat time on the track! If you ask any of the folks
that attended last Septembers Track Day, they'll tell you about how much
fun it was and that this is an event that's not to be missed!

Prices for the school/session will be somewhere around $400-ish for the
first time drivers (this includes your own all day instructor) and
$225-ish for the experienced drivers. Like last year, the prices should
be a bit lower with a good club turnout. All cars are welcome! Make
sure your car is up to the task of doing some spirited driving, and will
be able to pass a basic tech inspection.

The thing to do now, is to get the word out to all of our friends and
let everyone know about a pretty cool opportunity that is quickly
approaching!!
