Cam gears!

I've seen 2jz's, RB's, VG's with exposed cam gears, I was told that this would leak oil EVERYWHERE if it was done? Is this true? Shoot back, peace foo's

as far as i know oil shouldn't leak but what you have to watch out are stray rocks or something like that. one hit and BOOM, your timing belt is broken and you are taking a bus to work

I dunno, I think it would look pretty sweet, but can I replace the CAS (drivers side exhaust) cam gear? What gears can I replace? The gears I've found are about 137 a peice, any color idonized. And I DEFFINATELY need a new timing belt, thats the reason my heads went in the first place, the belt was so loose, the tensioner would spin if you spun it!!!! . So I think underdrive, cam gears, and all other pulleys would look pretty sick, good hp gains as well. Peace foo's

hey i think it is the ultimate z that has a timing belt for a z that is supposed to be much higher quality than the oem one. but it will run you about $180 + s/h

you've got to be kidding me!
Come on now! How many times have we all posted the same damn links over and over!?!
I'd think that you would've bookmarked them by now! This is really a new low for you, Nismo. I have to say it though, I am severely disappointed in you.

I didn't figure that I had to. Obviously it MUST be my FAULT for assuming that you might have gone through the websites, that I've been listing every other day, from top to bottom like most ppl would. Especially since you think that you might need something for YOUR car. I guess I'm just too used to doing things my way. See, I'm getting old and your pointing it out to me! No wonder I'm getting mad!

Nismo-the song 'One' that you're trying to get out of head...is that Metallica's 'One'? If so, why do you need to? Just an FYI, if we give you a link to a site you should probably save it. we usually wind up referencing the same sites over and over again.

Haha, damn Riz, calm thy **** down yon fellow. I have bookmarked your sites you give me, I appreciate the help dude, dont get me wrong. But one question, if I drive with the cam covers off... Where would the PTU (Power Transistor Unit) sit... Seeming as it sits on the passenger side exhaust cam gear, then what??? I've seen this done before on street Z's, how do they manuver around this obstacle? Also, another damn problem... I was searching through the WEBSITE that RIZ GAVE ME, (haha) and I stumbled across at the bottom (wiring harness EFI) "We recomend that the engine is removed while installing new harness" DDAAAAAAAMMMMN IIIITTTT! Screw it, I wanna give up and go to bed, haha. Any tips? Peace foo's

Haha, ppl. I expected better from you guys, especially for all the help I've provided.

For Nismo, you can strap the ptu to the upper water hose. That's where mine is located. The reason why it's located there and not the cam cover is because my Z was one of the few that needed the ptu changed. I'm guessing that, that's where the dealer placed it.

I'm already a father of one spoiled child.

I DO NOT need another. Nor do I want one. Don't ask again cuz I believe in whipping the children.
