engine swap- australia

hi all,
Ok, I live in perth, western aust. and own a 280zx 2+2 '83.
I have been looking to do an engine swap.. heard 280zxt swap is easiest and cheapest (tight budget) but are none or handful in Australia.

next i was thinking of an RB swap, maybe an RB20DET or RB25DET

has anyone done this with a zx and what sort of price range am I looking at?

Rb25DET Swap your looking at around 15k total i would say,

also want to sell your ZX

or know where i can get one cheap ? i live in Mandruah WA just down the road from you

SPEAKING OF AUSTRALIA i was jsut thinking.. since you guys in austraila didnt get the 280ZX turbo 2 seater and we didnt get the skyline GTR... i was wonderin if there was anyone out there in austraila willing to do a over seas trade for a 280ZX turbo for a RB26dett engine and GTS tranny... i dont know... its just a thought... let me know if anyonw out there is willing to do this with me... and we can work out the shipping..

ahh dam... yeh 15k.. i was thinking more like 5k..

what have you done to ur zx?

didn't really want to stick with the stock motor

yeah, their arent' many zx's in decent condition in perth.. hard to find a good deal

iceice9, RB26DETT, and manual or auto transmission?

just gona check what sort of price range this comes to.

jjohnson im lookin for a RB26DETT with a Manual.. the RWD manual from the GTS.. cuz i can get hold of a 280zx 2 seater turbo in really good shape out here in California..

jjohnson, the swap is HARD custom mounts and im not sure if it would clear the firewall ? i know it does in a 240z

15k is because you WONT be able to pic up a full RB26DETT and RB25DET gb for under 9-10k 5,000 for other misc bits like wiring exhaust intercooler piping bov

icice9, the 2seater is a rarity in aus yes but i wouldnt swap a rb26dett and rb25det gb for one though

haha.. yehh,

that comes to ALOT more than id pay for prety much any 280z

www.adelaidejap.com.au - rb26's dont come in until next year for this company, dunno about anywher else in aust.
