Anyone have an solution to this problem?
I am in the process of restoring my ZX and I am trying to get the engine running. I have fuel, spark, compression. The previous owner said that the airflow meter was buggered would this cause it not to start at all? Are there any tests that I can perform on the meter ? I have voltage on the plug side.

Well (i'm sure you're a smart enough person...), but where are you getting spark? At the coil and the plugs, or just the coil? Sometimes just replacing the rotor and distributor cap will get you giong.

I am getting spark at the plugs so I must be getting spark at the coil as well. I figure that there has to be something small causing it not to start even if the airflow meter is baffed it should run and then die. My 240sx does that with the airflow meter off.
I read that vacumm leaks can cause the car not to start as well. I noticed that I have some cracks on the ends of some hoses where they connect to equipment.
Any thoughts? Thanks for the help so far.

Ok I checked the vaccum lines and fixed a couple of lines with cracks in them and still no start. I pulled the plugs and they were wet so the engine is obviously flooded. I'm airing the engine out as we speak and drying the plugs. Going to give it an hour and then try it again. Any other suggestions?

Maybe be best to replace plugs as they will get so soaked they will gas foul. If you have good spark at the plugs then you may want to check timing to be sure it has not jumped. Not sure if bad pressure regulater would cause flood but might check it and fuel pressure to, could be over fueling. Where all the plugs soaked or just a couple? I had 2 bad injectors flood at idle but smoothed on the go and it was hard to start until I replaced them............

I'm going to test all the cylinders for spark and timing on the distributor. I'm not sure if the banana that sold me the car didn't mess up the firing order or something as that would totally cause a no start situation. Even if the MAF is baffed it should fire and run till the ECU realizes there is no signal correct?
