To do it properly you are also required to use the internal electronics from a properly functioning n/a Air Flow Meter. The turbo air flow meter sends signals for forced induction.

I have an unmodified turbo unit now. Maybe I could stick it on and see if my engine doesn't blow up!

The swap requires you de-solder a few small terminals and re-solder them into the larger meter. Nothing microscopic

Then you will need to adjust the meter's sesativity to put in the right amount of fuel. The trap door is now larger and lets in more air with the same amount of door travel; therefore you need additional fuel per cm of door movement vs the n/a meter. Basically I heard that you loosen the screw about all the way. Then tighten just a half turn and see if the car idles. Keep going 1/4 turn tighter each time. When you get to the point that the car idles good and clean, then push down on the throttle with your hand. You'll probably still need to go tighter (rich) untill you can revv the engine up from idle without hessitation or backfiring. That's about it! This mod is good for more airflow, meaning high rpm power only. Weather or not you get more torque will be based on how well you tune your engine and weather you are running sligntly lean/rich or whatever.
