Yesterday, I replaced the altenator in my '84 ZXT. After I finished and was replacing the negative battery cable, there were a few more sparks than usual, but nothing that raised a red flag. When I got in the car to start it, I noticed that the dome light was not on nor was the security light on dash. The car started just fine. However, there was no dash lights, running lights, tail lights, turn signals, horn, power windows, windshield wipers, stereo or a/c fan, but the headlights worked except for the headlight motors. What the hell happened? I checked all fuses under dash and all ok. I am going back underneath to be sure I wired the altenator correctly. What do you think happened?

 

Did you check the fusible links?

 

I'm taking two days off of work this week to dive under the car. While I'm there, I'm going to look at both things ( the wiring as well as the fusable links). Hopefully I didn't screw something up too badly...so far I've got a 100% record of fixing it right the first time. But, this is my first 300zxt and it IS a different animal from my 280zx.

Anyone else have any ideas????
