vacuum control Modulator

vacuum control Modulator

82 280zxt

Do I need the vacuum control modulator? What does it do? I'm not running A/C or Cruise control.

The VCM (located under the AFM) controls the EGR & AAC. The vacuum pump & canister (located under the hood light) is for the dash vent selection & cruise control.
