I am looking to get a 1992 300zx tt but my friend thinks im better off going with a turbo supra. I like the way the zx looks but I would like to know how it compares to the supra on the street. I would also bring it to stage 3 once i got it.

 

Both r great cars. If the knd of supra your thinkin about is the last gen w/twin tubo it starts off with 320 horse while the ZTT has 300. Both cars are heavily supported thrugh the aftermarket and easy to make power also parts for both are expensive. The final decision is yours but I'm on this site because I own a ZTT I just love the stylin and power of the car. Mine is currently at stage 5 and I've blown a couple of supra TT's

 

Both are awesome cars. I had a chance to buy either a Z or a Supra, but I chose a Z because I love Nissan and their cars. I believe they build great cars. but it all depends on your taste. I love my Z and would not trade it, well.....maybe for a R33 Skyline GT-R...now thats a great awsome car.

 

ok dont get me wrong i love my 3zx2 and am very satisfied with owning i almost traded my wifes car in to purchase one but then the loan came through so she got lucky lol anyways the only thing that would take me out of my z is a rx-7 tt gen3 thats it thats the only thing if you ask me you will get better performance out of the zx and it will last a while longer it was built for performance and life i mean come on its a nissan after it will never die! well good luck have fun !!

The Z is much more refined and balanced than the Supra, IMHO. I love the cockpit design and the timelines body lines of the Z. The Supra, to me, is just OK looking.

Performance wise, it is generally easier to make power from the Supra motor. The internals of the Supra's inline 6 is good for 800+ hp. Stock brakes are better on the Supra, although the Z's brakes are relatively easy to upgrade. And, it seems to be a bit easier to work on the Supra than the Z.

Someday I may pick up a Supra to play with. But for now, I like my 300ZXTT and 280Z, although I really would like to build a slick-top TT for road racing.

The Z is just a much sharper car, and seems to be a bigger head-turner.

Yep, its all just pissin in the wind, there are solid Zs and solid supras. On the other hand there are lemon Zs and supras. Just make sure whatever you purchase is mechanically sound at least. Pick somthing you can have fun with, thats most important.

Since this is 300zx website then I strongly suggest you get 300zx and restore it!!! The more 300zx being restore the more parts availablity!!! Yes they both are nice cars and if I had my pick, definetly go with 300zx bec of bold look, not over do it on look. Supra looks like too muck junky with the extra curves!!! Its your pick and hope this message have you leaning on our babies!!

I may sound old fashion but I always wanted 300zx since my high school days(1990) and today I finally brought one my own last week. Ever since seeing many new sport car after 300zx came around they are still my favorite!! If you really look at other cars carefully you will see too much junk added on the body while 300zx looks like in one piece without any modifications on body. Other cars look like there been modified but thats the actual factory install. But one car looks good is the Supra but body been overdone with explosive curves which is too much for me. While camaro, 3000gt, and firebirds has too much junk added on the body. Every car has their own design for customer preference but in 300zx website I admit that I have right to play favorism!!!

well, i've heard the 300zx has bad wheel hop, but, then again the supra was in the fast and the furious, and we all know how much that makes it super hyper cool. I mean, it ran what, a 9? Yep. What does that mean in the real world? Pretty much nothing. Go with the Z, after this 350z comes out, an awful lot more attention is going to go out to Z owners. Hopefully even a value rise =D And more attention to performance parts for the older ones. (I can dream...)
