Oofa! That's a funky lookin Bimmer. I imagine the 8 series was a spinoff of that. Deffinately belongs in Jay Leno's garage... and that's about it.

it sorta looks like a older 80's ferrari. And the M1 is a very rare bmw.

 

Wow. I wonder why he's selling it. Thats the rarest of the rare in the BMW world. I think only 500 made. I don't think 160k is hopefull. It may actually be on the low end of pricing.

Yes, that car is brutally rare and everything he say's it is...

I'm not too sure about the asking price, but I have a friend that owns two of them... I'll ask him when we talk next.

He also has the next rarest BMW and the ONLY one legally in the USA that we know of...

they were racing m1 bmws back in the early 1980's---david hobbs and them........fast and funky--like a delorean mated to a pantera made this.......little red one is kinda cute......looks like a metro........

The BMW M1 and the Lamborghini Jalpa shared the same underpinnings and coachwerk (minus the from fascia of course) but had unique drivetrains from their respective stables... FYI

The other car is a BMW Z1 and was never cleared for use in the U.S.A. by D.O.T.

i can definitely see that being the inspiration for the 8 series. i always liked the 8 series bimmers. but i would still rather have a GT5S pantera .
